Officers are appealing for information after a young child was hospitalised following a collision in Bolton.
Shortly before 6.45pm on Saturday 10 September 2016 police were called to reports of a collision between a car and a four-year-old girl on Peace Street.
The car is believed to be new-style black Vauxhall Astra and left the scene which was near the Zakariyya Mosque before police arrived.
The girl is currently in a stable condition at hospital after suffering a leg injury.
Detective Inspector, Matt Bailey-Smith, from GMP’s Bolton borough, said: “Thankfully this young child is going to recover from what has been a really traumatic experience, both for her and her parents – this could have had devastating consequences.
“I would appeal directly to the driver of the car to come forward to police while I would also ask any witnesses to call us."
“If you saw a similar car in the area around the time of the collision, you could also hold vital information to help us trace the driver.”
