A 34 year old man from Oldham, has been charged with terrorism offences.
34-year-old Atiq Ahmed of Copster Hill Road, Oldham has been charged with five counts of acts of terrorism. This is in relation to a warrant that was executed at the address on Tuesday 19 December.
A GMP spokesperson confirmed Atiq Ahmed was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London.
The charges included possessing a document or record which contains information of a kind likely to be useful, to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act.
