A man from Oldham has been charged with two terrorism offences linked to the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Benjamin Stimson of no fixed abode has been charged with terrorism offences under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006; involving the intention of committing acts of terrorism and engaging in conduct in preparation for giving effect to his intention, and with the intention of committing acts of terrorism and assisting acts of terrorism.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 7 October in a case which, it has been reported, is the first time someone has been charged with terrorism charges in the UK relating to the conflict.
