An Oldham family have been sentenced for their role in the supply of drugs.
Nazarit Ali, 52, Qasim Iddbux, 25, and Assam Ali, 25, all of Malton Street were sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court.
Assam admitted to producing cocaine and conspiracy to supply cannabis while his twin brother Qasim also pleaded guilty to supplying cannabis. Assam was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment and Qasim received a 12-month community order with 15 days unpaid work and a £200 fine.
Their father Nazarit pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and possession of cannabis. He received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
Following intelligence and enquiries by Oldham’s Organised Crime Unit, officers searched the family home in July 2016.
Approximately £560 of cannabis and cocaine mixing agents were seized.
Other evidence recovered included drug supply paraphernalia such as snap bags of cannabis, grinders, scales as well as a suspected cocaine press and more than £1,600 in cash.
DC Andy Pearson, from Oldham’s Organised Crime Unit, said: “To the unsuspecting public this was an ordinary family home in Oldham but behind closed doors cocaine was being produced while cannabis was being packaged to be sold.
“Drugs blight our communities all the while lining the pockets of criminals who only want to feed their greed.
“I hope this case shows that drug dealers will not go unnoticed and will be caught. We will continue to do everything we can to rid our streets of these criminals and make Oldham a safer place to live.”
