A Nottinghamshire man appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court, charged with two offences under the Terrorism Act, and was remanded in custody.
Ryan Counsell, 28 years, was initially arrested on Monday following a joint investigation by Nottinghamshire Police and the North East Counter Terrorism Unit.
He is charged with two offences contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
This activity was intelligence led and there is no evidence to suggest any community was at immediate risk in connection with this investigation
