Bradford will pay its respects to those killed or injured in conflicts around the world on Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday over the weekend.
On Saturday, people will gather at the Bradford cenotaph where a wreath will be laid by the Lord Mayor on behalf of the city.
Research by Professor of Military History Ian Beckett claims that 84 per cent of people from Yorkshire and the Humber don’t know that more than 7,000 of the nation’s armed forces have died in conflict since WWII and over a third are unaware of any of the conflicts which the British Armed Forces are currently involved in.
