A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Manchester.
Shortly after 7.45am on Tuesday 26 March police were called to reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist and a lorry on Oldham Road in Newton Heath.
Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention.
PC Paul Joynson, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This morning a young man tragically lost his life in this collision, and we are providing support to his family at this incredibly difficult time.
“A man is in custody, and we continue our enquiries to establish the events leading up to the incident.
“If you saw anything or if you have dashcam footage then please contact police as soon as possible as your information could be vital to this investigation.”
