West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking members of the public to serve on its Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield District Consultation Sub-Committees.
Held quarterly, District Consultation Sub-Committee meetings bring together local councillors, members of the public and representatives from local transport operators to discuss and consult on local transport issues.
Their aim is to provide updates on local transport issues and developments, enable members to highlight public transport concerns with transport operators and provide an opportunity to consult on local transport policies and proposals
No specialist transport knowledge is needed, but the Combined Authority would like to recruit people who have experience of public transport, cycling and walking in West Yorkshire. Members representing wider interest groups such as people with disabilities, young people and BME communities are also being encouraged to apply.
Around 3.6 million journeys are made on West Yorkshire’s public transport network every week.
This year, the Combined Authority is investing over £155m in schemes to help improve local transport networks across the region.
