A man has been charged after warrants were executed by Counter Terrorism Policing North West in Cheetham Hill.
Amir Maqbool, 26, of Durley Avenue, Cheetham Hill has been charged with encouragement of terrorism section 1 of the Terrorism Act (2006) and dissemination of a terrorist publication section 2 of the Terrorism Act (2006).
He has been remanded into custody and appeared at Westminster Magistrates today, 30 October.
He has also been charged with improper use of public electronic communications network section 127 of the Communications Act (2003) for which he will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on 12 December 2017.
Police have said that at this time there is no intelligence or evidence to suggest that there is any risk to the local community.
