25 men have been jailed for a total of 90 years for drug dealing offences in Manchester.
They were arrested following a series of raids which were conducted across the Moston, Harpurhey, Blackley, Newton Heath, Ancoats and Collyhurst areas during February.
All the men played a role in the operation of drugs hotlines in different areas where people would place orders via telephone before meeting one of the suppliers who would make the drop in a car or on a bike.
In Ancoats, the line was known locally as the “Kieran Line” and supplied heroin and crack cocaine around the Rochdale canal towpath and Woodward park area.
Connor Hegarty, who assisted Michael and James O’Leary with their drugs operation, was found in possession of £20,000 of spice in Piccadilly Gardens.
Also in Ancoats, a second team of dealers were supplying heroin and crack cocaine around Oldham Road through the “Paddy Line”. During a search in December targeting those associated to the line, a firearm and ammunition were recovered.
During planned action in January 2017, Matthew Clough was arrested after he rammed two police vehicles and threw a chocolate egg stuffed with heroin and crack cocaine from the car.
The last of a total of 31 defendants were convicted on Friday 4th August 2017 following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.
