A man who bit a nurse at a mental health hospital in Bradford has been sentenced.
Tinotenda Muti, 29, was a patient at Lynfield Mount hospital in August last year and was put under hourly observations after being suspected he had taken the drug spice.
Bradford Crown Court heard how a male nurse attempted to enter Muti’s room after growing concerned but was spat at. When raising his arm to defend himself the nurse was bit by Muti, drawing blood.
Muti, of Amberley Court, Barkerend, admitted causing actual bodily harm, although he had no recollection of the incident.
He has been subject to a community order for six months.
