A man who assaulted a beggar in Glasgow has been jailed.
32-year-old Steven Palmer was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court, after he was caught in the act by officers.
The court heard that police saw him punch the man, who was sitting outside an entrance to Glasgow Central.
Palmer admitted that he assaulted a homeless man by punching him on the head. He also said that on the same date on Union Street and Stewart Street Police Office he had heroin in his possession.
He was jailed for three months as well as being admonished after admitting to possession of the class A drug.
