A 32 year old man who kicked his pregnant sister-in-law in the stomach threatening to kill her and her unborn child has been jailed for two years.
Leeds Crown Court heard that Abdul Kobir launched a violent assault on his brother and his wife during a family row; he had become angry when the child of the couple, who had taken Kobir into their home, began crying. The court was told he threw a hammer at the couple which luckily missed before hitting his brother around the back of his head and then launching the horrific assault on his pregnant sister in law.
Kobir, of Savile Road, Chapeltown, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.
