A 44-year-old man has been jailed for six years for the sexual abuse of two girls under the age of ten.
Stuart Hislop Ferguson, of Douglas Road, Balby, was on trial at Sheffield Crown Court charged with two counts of gross indecency, two counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual assault.
He was found guilty of all six charges on Monday 25 April and sentenced to six years in prison.
Detective Constable Alison Shields from Doncaster’s Child Abuse Investigation Team said: “Ferguson’s crimes are, quite simply, inexcusable and deplorable. He subjected his victims, both of whom were under ten-years-old, to horrific offending.
“He denied his guilt throughout our investigation, resulting in a trial where the girls’ awful ordeals had to be repeated before the court.
“I hope that the guilty conviction and jail sentence offers some small form of reassurance for his victims and their families, as they attempt to move forward and rebuild their lives.”
Upon release, Ferguson will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
