Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Helen Steele of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said:“Lauren was a much-loved mum, daughter, and sister whose life was tragically cut short by Booth’s senseless actions.
“Specially trained officers continue to support Lauren’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“No verdict or sentence will bring Lauren back, but I hope today can provide the family with some closure and justice and they can move forward with their lives.”
The Howe Family have released a statement:
“On the weekend of the 23/24 July last year our lives changed forever following the actions of Charlie Booth.
“Losing Lauren in the way that we did was shocking and devastating for all of our family.
“Words seem so useless when trying to explain the extent of our loss. We are a close family and Lauren was at the heart of it. Her absence is huge loss. We are all left trying to adjust to our lives without her. But we know, we must carry on for the sake of her lovely children.
“Enduring the trial has been very difficult, it has been like losing Lauren all over again.
“We would like to thank everyone for their care and support as we continue our journey of grieving for Lauren.
“We will respect the findings of the Court, but no sentence will ever compensate us for Lauren’s life.
“We all now must try and move forward knowing that we have a lifetime ahead of us without Lauren, but she lives on in her two beautiful children who we will love and will cherish forever.”
