A man is in a critical condition after being assaulted in Bolton.
At 2am on Sunday 21 August 2016, one or two offenders approached a 46-year-old man on Bradshawgate near to the junction of Breightmet Street and punched him causing him to fall to the ground and bang his head.
The man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Sergeant Iqbal Ahmed said: "We are going through CCTV from the night and there were lots of people around at the time of the incident. This man is very poorly in hospital so I would ask if anyone saw what happened or knows anyone who may have been involved to call police urgently."
