Imran Khan of Cheadle Road in Cheadle Hulme has been charged with murder.
He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday 20 April 2016.
At around 7.40pm on Monday 18 April 2016 police were called to a house on Cheadle Road in Cheadle Hulme to reports that a woman had been stabbed.
On arrival officers found a 39-year-old woman with stab wounds. She sadly died a short time later.
