Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man in connection with a murder in Flixton over the weekend.
Shortly before midnight on Saturday 3 November, police were called to reports of a disturbance at a property on Moorside Road, Flixton.
Officers attended and a man, believed to be in his 60s, was taken to hospital where he later died.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Stuart Wilkinson of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the man who died as they deal with the sudden and tragic loss of their loved one.
“This investigation is very much in its early stages and although we have made an arrest, enquiries are ongoing.
“A scene will remain in place at a house on Moorside Road today as we continue our investigations.
“If you were in the area late on Saturday night, or early Sunday morning and think you might have seen something that could help us, or if you saw anyone acting suspiciously then please let us know.”
