Officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit on Tuesday (17 May) arrested a man in Birmingham on suspicion of Syria related terrorism offences.
The 21-year-old man was detained by officers from the West Midlands Counter terrorism unit yesterday morning (Tuesday 17 May) at an address in the Handsworth area.
The man, who was arrested on suspicion of preparing to travel to Syria to join Daesh, was bailed with strict conditions while enquiries continue take place.
The arrest was pre-planned and intelligence led- there was no immediate threat to public safety.
