A fire at a former print works in Lower Wortley, Leeds, on Friday was caused accidentally investigations have found.
Ten fire engines and two aerial appliances attended the unoccupied premises in Whitehall Road, after the Fire Service’s Control Room received the first call at 12.41 hrs on October 7.
The fire involved a single storey building measuring around 60 metres by 40 metres.
The building partially collapsed and ultimately was completely destroyed by the fire, however, firefighters were successful in stopping it spreading to surrounding buildings.
No-one was injured by the fire.
The Fire Service remained on-site throughout Friday night and finally left at around 3pm on Saturday (Oct 8) passing the premises back into the hands of the property owners.
Ian Bitcon, who was Incident Commander, said: “Actions taken by the initial crews played a huge part in ensuring that surrounding buildings were protected and this meant that the incident could be dealt with quickly.”
