Local residents have received recognition in the Queen’s birthday honours list.
The list highlights the service of citizens to their local communities.
Elaine Scriven received a British Empire Medal for her services to the community in Bradford after serving as manager of a day care centre in Thorpe Edge for 21 years. Noor Ali, a senior buying manager for Morrison Supermarkets, was also handed a medal for services to diversity in the retail industry.
Geraldine Howley was awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) title for her services to housing, young people, and the local community. Also awarded an OBE was Professor Colin Mellors, of Ilkley, for services to economic development in Yorkshire.
