Police are appealing for information following a knifepoint robbery at a Leeds shop.
At about 2.40pm on Sunday (13/11) a man entered Sheikh's Store, in Beeston Road, and pushed the lone 28-year-old female member of staff to the floor, threatened her with a kitchen knife and demanded cash.
The woman fought back and a struggle ensued. The man then grabbed a quantity of cigarettes from the behind the counter and ran from store.
He was described as white, aged 28 to 35, about 5ft 5ins tall, skinny, with short hair.
Detective Inspector Charlotte Hails, of Leeds District CID, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim who bravely tried to defend herself against the suspect who was armed with a knife. Thankfully she was not injured.”
