A woman who was out jogging in Knottingley was sexually assaulted.
Police are now appealing for information following the incident.
At around 10.30am on Sunday 28 May, the victim, a woman in her 30s, was jogging along the canal towpath under the bridge at Bridge Lane when a man approached her and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect made off from the scene when a woman walking her dog appeared nearby on the towpath.
The suspect is described as in his 30s, around 6ft tall, of muscular build and with broad shoulders. He is described as tanned or olive-skinned and spoke with a foreign accent.
He had light brown hair with white highlights in it, and is described as wearing a long sleeved grey top and dark blue tracksuit bottoms.
The woman who may have witnessed the assault is believed to have been in her 50s and was walking a white and grey Jack Russel-type dog.
The police are asking for anyone who recognises the man described or the witness walking the dog to get in touch.
