An investigation has been launched after officers reopened the case of the death of a woman in 2014.
In the early hours of 14 June 2014, police were called to reports that a woman, later formally identified as 49-year-old Linda Richardson, had been found unconscious at a house on Spencer Street, Bury.
She was taken to hospital where she died sometime later.
An investigation into the circumstances was launched at the time and the case was subsequently closed as it was deemed there were no suspicious circumstances.
In November 2017, officers received new information that caused police to reopen the case and yesterday, 5 January, a 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.
