A large fire at a Chinese supermarket in Manchester caused road closures and nearby properties to be evacuated.
A large plume of smoke could be seen on the skyline yesterday, 24 October, as around 60 firefighters tackled a blaze at the Wing Fat Cash and Carry on Gorton Road in Beswick.
Residents from nearby houses and a block of flats were evacuated due the amount of smoke.
People were also advised to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.
It is believed no one was injured in the incident but a spokesperson for the fire service said a thorough search is required to rule out if anyone was left in the building.
