Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses following reports of several buses being damaged by vandals.
The Huddersfield Neighbourhood Policing Team is investigating and appealing for information regarding the incidents in which bus windows were damaged by vandals in three locations in the town during the evening of Monday 24 February. No-one was hurt in the incidents.
Officers are investigating reports of two buses each having a window broken on Leeds Road between 8.40pm and 9.30pm and a report of a bus having a window broken on Castlegate at 9.30pm.
Both buses were moving at the time and were carrying passengers.
Officers are investigating whether a group of persons has moved around the area targeting the vehicles.
Inspector Graham Dyson said: “These offences cause me serious concern and the potential for this behaviour to cause serious injury, or a road traffic collision is clear.
“These were truly stupid and reckless acts and I will be placing increased patrols in the areas effected to try to identify potential offenders.”
