Fire crews were called out to a property in Bradford after a man fell asleep whilst smoking in bed.
Fire crews from Odsal and Bradford were called out to a bungalow on Fender Road in Wibsey at around 1am this morning, 9 May.
A spokesperson from one of the crews said a 38 year-old man who lived alone at the property had already made his way outside by the time they had arrived.
His bed was destroyed and most of the contents of the house were left with smoke-damage after the man had been smoking in bed, fallen asleep, and then woken up to find the bed on fire.
The man did not require any medical treatment at the scene.
