Hotel staff from across Wakefield District have been given up to the minute training about spotting the signs of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in a new prevention initiative.
Specialist Wakefield Safeguarding detectives delivered training to hotel managers and employees in a special conference at the Cedar Court hotel on 1 November as part of continuing work to prevent child sexual exploitation.
Safeguarding officers also discussed issues including human trafficking as part of the training which is part of continuing work to protect children and the vulnerable.
Staff were encouraged to look for common signs such as walk in/last minute bookings, young people looking uncomfortable and young females trying to look older than their age in the company of older men.
