Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in the Wheatley area of Halifax where a couple were threatened in their home.
The incident occurred in the early hours on Saturday morning, when several male suspects wielding weapons forced their way in to the property on Hebble Vale Drive around at 1.30am.
The couple were dragged from their beds; the 28-year old male victim was seriously injured during the violent attack which lasted several minutes. The female victim was threatened and also assaulted.
A large quantity of cash was stolen during the incident.
The suspects are described as being black males wearing dark clothing. They are believed to have used a silver coloured Mercedes, 4 door saloon car and may have travelled outside of the Calderdale area.
Detective Inspector Craig Lord of Calderdale CID said "We strongly believe that the silver coloured Mercedes described may have been in the Halifax and Wheatley area sometime between 11pm on Friday evening and 2am on Saturday morning and would appeal to anyone who may have seen it to urgently come forward.”
