A doctor who was stabbed in the face in Greater Manchester was the victim of a targeted attack, say police.
It has been revealed that a few weeks before the assault the doctor’s car had been set on fire.
The GP was leaving the Elms Medical Centre in Bury when he was knifed several times.
It is understood he had to receive plastic surgery after suffering deep lacerations to his head and face.
The attack happened on Thursday 27 April but, after it has emerged that his car was torched outside his home in Bolton on 14 April, police now believe the incidents may be linked, meaning the attack could have been targeted specifically at the doctor.
