Almost 100 suspected victims of trafficking have been intercepted at Glasgow Airport in a Home Office operation.
The Border Force team, trained to spot signs of trafficking, has interviewed more than 300 potential victims since Operation Outrun began in November 2016 at the airport.
Of those interviewed more than 250 were Romanian. Around a third were returned to their home country after authorities believed they may have been destined for the sex industry.
In one case, a 23-year-old Romanian woman was prevented from entering the country after arriving with no money and no return ticket.
She informed officers she was visiting her Romanian boyfriend but on investigation it was revealed the address he was taking her to was home to 13 men, two of whom had convictions for sexual offences.
