A Bradford youngster is going on the trip of a lifetime as he sets off to save an endangered species.
Fourteen-year-old Mekhail Mir of Eldwick is one of just 30 young people who have been selected to help build a school in the remote Kudat region in Borneo. He will also be part of a team working to save the rare sun bear from extinction next summer.
Mekhail will be involved in building and repairing the play areas at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, which is home to 42 orphans or former captives, who are released to the wild or offered a permanent home.
