Firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze which ripped up the side of a 20-storey apartment block in Manchester city centre
Crews were called to Joiner Street in the Northern Quarter at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon when flames took hold of a ninth-floor balcony.
Investigators are now working to find out what sparked the blaze.
No fatalities were reported however a 23-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
A GMFRS spokesman added that the cause of the fire on the balcony is still to be determined.
