Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Barkisland where a number of firearms were stolen.
The incident happened at a property Barkisland in Halifax on Tuesday 23 August between 15:30 and 16:40.
Suspects forced entry into the rear patio doors of the property and took a number of items including a gun cabinet containing six rifles and shotguns and some ammunition.
The suspects fled the scene and at around 19:15 on Tuesday evening, a member of the public reported to police that a cabinet had been discarded on Britannia Road, in Golcar.
A 16-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Detective Inspector Craig Lord of Calderdale CID, said: "I would like to appeal to members of the public if they have any information about this incident to come forward and contact the police."
"A number of firearms were stolen along with personal items, and we are continuing our investigation to recover these items and return to their owners. The firearms were legally held by the owner and I would also ask people to come forward if any of the above items have been advertised for sale."
"Anyone who witnessed any suspicious in Barkisland on the afternoon of the 23 August or anyone discarding any items on Britannia Road in Huddersfield, to call the police via 101 quoting log number 1344 of 23 August."
