Exactly one year after its launch, the Bradford Economic Partnership is staging an event to highlight the results of its economic strategy.
Leaders from across the district’s political, business and public spheres will meet at Keighley College on Wednesday 6 March to celebrate what Bradford Council calls major achievements in investment, growth and employment.
The council said that last year the district saw 4,127 new business start-ups, 48 high growth business expansions and 6500 new private sector jobs.
The authority added that the number of Black Minority Ethnic women in paid employment topped 20,000 - twice the total in 2010.
Events such as Bradford Manufacturing Week, Illuminate Bradford, Bradford Festival and Bradford Literature Festival were also staged over the year.
Dave Baldwin, Chair of the Bradford Economic Partnership, said: “Minimum requirement, maximum effort - that’s the approach I said we would be taking at the launch of Bradford’s economic growth strategy in March 2018.
“We wanted to create a movement in Bradford and make sure everyone was pointing in the same direction to deliver significant economic benefits across the district.
“In a challenging year for the wider UK economy, our strategy has taken us in the right direction and that is testament to the strong partnerships we are building across the public and private sector.”
