A man currently serving a jail term, after he was convicted of causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for a prescribed drug, is appealing against the decision following the alleged manipulation of forensic data.
Matthew Bravender, 38, from Agecroft in Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to the charge and was jailed for five years and four months at Manchester Crown Court after 52-year-old pedestrian Alan Strong was struck and killed in April 2016.
Two scientists from the Randox testing facility in Manchester have been jailed over the alleged manipulation of forensic evidence results. It is believed up to 10,000 cases could be affected.
