A convicted sex offender who dodged prison last year has been jailed after racially abusing a passer-by and leaving cat poo on a neighbour’s doorstep.
Bradford Crown Court heard that Edward Bey, 32, of Planetrees Street, Allerton, had subjected Syed Ali, a man passing Bey’s house, to a torrent of racist and Islamophobic abuse which was described by the judge as “grossly disgraceful and offensive”.
The court also heard that Bey had been harassing his neighbour, Gordon Whiteoak, by repeatedly leaving cat excrement on his doorstep. When confronted about this, Bey claimed it was retaliation for Mr Whiteoak’s wife “revving her car at him”.
These latest offences come after Bey was sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended for two years, 2018 by a judge at Leeds Crown Court in December 2018 for four offences of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
He was subsequently jailed for two years, as well as having a restraining order imposed, banning him from having any form of contact with Mr and Mrs Whiteoak.
