Two women from Bulgaria have been jailed for a spate of bag thefts in Glasgow.
Nadezhda Taneva and Senada Petrova targeted victims in well-known retail shops across the city. It was revealed at Glasgow Sheriff Court that most of the victims were women in their 70s, the oldest of which was 78-years-old.
The court also heard that both women had been remanded in custody since 16 June and had planned to return to their native Bulgaria after completing their prison sentences.
Taneva was jailed for eight months after pleading guilty to three charges. Petrova plead guilty to one charge and was handed a four-month jail sentence.
