Bradford West MP Naz Shah has this week met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in London.
Naz thanked the minister for his personal commitment to the investigation into the murder of British National Samia Shahid. Naz Shah got involved in the alleged honour killing case of Bradford woman Samia Shahid after her second husband raised concerns following her death in Pakistan earlier this year. Naz Shah appealed to the Pakistani authorities to look again at the case and the true cause of death was found to be strangulation. Her father and former first husband have been held in connection with her death in Pakistan.
The Minister thanked Naz for the commitment she has shown in relation to this case and women's rights. He said "As I have said previously, the Government of Pakistan is committed bringing to justice those that committed this heinous crime, further more we thank Naz for her continued efforts in relation to the murder of her constituent"
Following the meeting Naz said, "I'm confident with the continued commitment shown that we will get justice for Samia Shahid."
