An exhibition of work by abstract artist John Loker is set to go on display at Bradford’s Cartwright Hall gallery.
At the age of 15 Loker won a scholarship to study commercial design at Bradford School of Art in the 1950s. It was here he met David Hockney, David Oxtoby and Norman Stevens. The group would later be nicknamed ‘The Bradford Mafia’ by a London art critic.
Now approaching his 80th birthday, Loker will be back in Bradford to launch the exhibition, showing a range of work spanning 60 years, at Cartwright Hall on Sunday 21 October.
