Bradford’s UK City of Culture 2025 bid is set to be launched today, taking place at two major events, one in the city and one in London
The events will showcase the district’s cultural might and economic growth, with a short film by Bradford-based film-maker Jack King to be premiered, showcasing the cultural heart of the city.
The film, called We Are All Bradford, is the first commission by the Bradford 2025 campaign and features more than 70 people from the district, from a variety of different cultures, occupations and backgrounds.
Speaking on Bradford’s bid to be selected as the UK City of Culture, the campaign’s interim chairman Mary Dowson said: “Bradford’s bid will be all about pride and resilience, innovation and creativity, and the stories of a city that is beyond definitions of diversity.
“We need to change the narrative about Bradford and challenge perceptions of a city that has laid the foundations for modern society in Britain.”
