The Bradford Institute for Health Research has won a major award from the Royal College of Physicians.
The research team, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, were awarded the ‘Patient Care Award’ for ground breaking work in the care for older people. The team developed an electronic index which helps calculate an elderly person’s risk of disability and impairment, as well as the rate of their independence.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive, Professor Clive Kay said: “We have a fantastic programme of research and innovation… and this is one such example of innovation, collaboration and service improvement for the benefit of our patients, at its very best.”
