A rowing team from Bradford Grammar School has broken a world record.
The pupils broke the U19 Lightweight Concept 2 24 hour Rowing Club record with a distance of 389,317 metres, beating the previous record set by a rowing club in Florida.
The boys took it in turns to row through the day and the night, with eight rowers always on shift whilst the other two could catch some sleep.
Their Headmaster, Simon Hinchliffe, said: “I am in awe of their athleticism, ambition and determination. Our rowers organised themselves and showed great team spirit in the breaking of this record; I am tremendously proud of them all.
