Members from the Bradford Cycling Club set off yesterday (5 April 2017) on a 600 mile charity ride from City Park to Roubaix in France.
The departure of the cyclists was overseen by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Geoff Reid.
The 20 riders are aiming to arrive in the French city by Tuesday (11 April 2017) and are raising money for the Bradford Bulls Foundation and Choices4All.
Bradford’s twin-city, Roubaix, is famous for the Paris-Roubaix classic one day race, which boasts 27 sections of saddle jolting cobbles. The fundraisers will ride on the notorious route before allowing themselves a rest day to watch the professionals compete for victory in this year’s edition of the competition.
