Bradford Council has installed two electric vehicle charging points at an extra care housing site in Keighley.
The fast chargers, at newly built Valley View Court on Scatcherd Drive, Keighley, can charge three cars at once and will be available for residents, visitors and members of the public to use from Monday, 21 October. They will be free to use and can be accessed via the Hubsta network.
These latest additions bring the total number of public charging points installed across the district by the council to a total of seven.
As part of Bradford Council’s work to tackle air quality, planning permission for new developments includes a requirement to install charging points for electric vehicles.
The Government has set a target for the UK to end the sale of new conventional petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2040, with the new charging points designed help work towards that target.
Speaking on the new development, Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Executive Member for Health People and Places, said: “These charging points will be a great resource for electric vehicle drivers in the Keighley area and demonstrate our continued commitment to tackling climate change.”
