Bradford Council is backing a national drive designed to increase voter registration.
The ‘You can't vote' campaign has been developed by the Electoral Commission in order to increase participation in the upcoming local and Police and Crime Commissioner elections.
The Council is supporting the campaign by sending out a digital video van across all five Bradford district constituencies to encourage registration.
The authority's Neighbourhood Service staff will be handing out leaflets and speaking to local people about the importance of registering to vote.
Street posters will go up around Bradford and the Council will be putting the word out via its Twitter, Facebook and You Tube accounts.
On Thursday, 5 May this year, voters in Bradford district go to the polls to elect local government councillors, parish or town councillors in some areas and a Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire.
Anyone who isn't registered won't be able to vote.
The deadline to register to vote in these elections is Monday, 18 April 2016.
Bradford district's Returning Officer, Kersten England, (pictured) said: "Local government has a significant impact on the quality of residents' lives so it is vitally important people take part in local elections.
"Registration is quick and easy and allows you to vote.
"It also allows eligible voters to take part in the upcoming European Union referendum.”
