A graduate from the University of Bradford has been awarded a top prize for her work in biomedical science.
Sophia Nanou, who was born in Bradford, worked on a cutting-edge research project over the summer that looked at the protein Chemerin as a promising candidate for pharmacological treatment strategies for obesity.
Sophia was invited to present her results at the British Society for Neuroendocrinology annual meeting and went up against stiff competition from 43 other presentations but was awarded gold.
