Bomb disposal experts were called to a takeaway on Leeds Road, Bradford for the second time this month after a suspect device was found.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "The fire service attended to put out a small fire in the basement while officers put road closures in place. Police were then informed that a suspect device had been found in the premises.”
The device was removed from the takeaway and people have been allowed back into the area.
Officers have confirmed that enquiries are at an early stage and this could be linked to a similar incident that took place on the 6th of March.
