The incidents took place between 23 March and 14 April, where the victim was approached by two suspects about some building work on his roof.
The suspects told the homeowner that they were carrying out work on other homes on the street, Morton Grove, in Thornhill Lees.
Over a month long period, the suspects asked the victim for several thousand pounds to complete the work, totalling at £16,960.
The first suspect is described as a white male, big build, 5ft 6", with a Yorkshire accent and was wearing a woolly hat.
The second male is described as white, slim build, around 23 - 24-years-old, missing upper teeth with long sandy coloured hair.
Detective Constable Andy Clayton, of Huddersfield CID, said: "We are appealing for information about these two suspects who have targeted this victim and taken a lot of money. We have advised the victim and his neighbours to be mindful when opening the door to strangers and to call the police if approached.
