Officers investigating an attack on a paper boy in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, have made an arrest.
At about 6.45pm on Wednesday (29 March 2017) a 14-year-old boy was walking on Cheetham Hill Road when he was chased by two teenage boys. The pair then threw a substance - suspected to be petrol - over the boy and chased him with a lighter.
The two offenders are described as around 13-years-old, white, of slim build, and about 5ft tall.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted Section 18 assault and has been bailed until 2 May 2017.
Detective Sergeant Philip Parker, from GMP’s Tameside borough, said: “Although we have made an arrest our investigation hasn’t stopped and we are continuing to appeal to the public. We are especially keen to speak to a man who was walking a dog at the time of the attack who we believe may have witnessed something. He is described as white and bald. If you are this man, or you believe you know him, I would urge you to get in touch with us.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 9262.
